Wooster Wraps Up First Winning Season Since 2018

Delaney Gross, Wooster Field Hockey DELAWARE, Ohio – A strong season by The College of Wooster field hockey team concluded on Sunday afternoon at Ohio Wesleyan University, where the Fighting Scots fell by a 3-0 score to the Battling Bishops at Selby Stadium.

Wooster concluded its season at 9-4 with a 6-4 mark within the North Coast Athletic Conference. The Scots finished above .500 for the first time since 2018, while the team's eight shutouts marked the most for the team since 2006.

Emily Streeter scored first for Ohio Wesleyan (16-0, 10-0 NCAC), which entered the day as one of three remaining undefeated teams in NCAA Div. III. On the play, Streeter tipped in a shot at the right post after an initial cross towards the cage was blocked by Wooster. That goal came in the fifth minute.

In the early stages of the second half, Ohio Wesleyan's Allie Crawford scored. The shot came following a pass from the top by Streeter. Crawford fired in the game's final goal from 12 yards out in the final minute.

Ohio Wesleyan recorded its 13th straight shutout and did not allow a shot in the contest. The Battling Bishops had 23 shots, 17 of which were on goal. That led to 13 saves from Wooster sophomore Cate Barkdoll. Senior Ciara O'Connor was credited with a defensive save in the 39th minute.
