Wooster (4-1, 4-0 North Coast Athletic Conference East Division) dominated the extra stanza, starting with first-year Jimmy Fisher winning his 20th faceoff and scooping up his game-high 13th groundball. Wooster bombarded Allegheny's (0-2, 0-2 NCAC East Division) goal, with senior Ted Wells' try at a game-winner sailing wide. Up next, junior Ben Kennedy's game-winning chance was denied by Allegheny 'keeper Eric Mirkovich. However, that shot drew Mirkovich out of position, while You was first to the rebound, scooped up the groundball, and deposited the game-winner into the net.

Wells and Kennedy were the offensive heroes in regulation, with Kennedy assisting on Wells' goal that tied the game at 10 with 7:20 remaining.

Both teams had chances to win it down the stretch in regulation. Wooster sophomore Adam Meyer was kept busy between the pipes with three saves over the final 5:55, and Allegheny regained possession for the final 10 ticks. At the other end, first-year Vinny DiLeo's chance at a go-ahead goal with 45 seconds left hit off the post.

Wooster led 5-1 at the end of the first period, with DiLeo and first-year Myles Brown each scoring a goal and assisting on another.

A 7-2 Allegheny stretch, spanning 21:09 between periods two and three, enabled the Gators to claim an 8-7 lead, when Mack Nevin scored with 5:59 left in the third. You tied the game at eight with 2:38 to go in the third, while Fisher knotted the score at nine with 12:14 remaining in regulation.

Fisher won 20-of-24 faceoffs, and was responsible 13 of Wooster's 38 groundballs. Kennedy and You had a co-team-leading four points with two goals and two assists apiece, while senior Bryce Danovskis caused three of Wooster's 11 caused turnovers. Meyer upped his career-high in saves to 14.

Patrick Hogan scored three goals and assisted on two others to lead Allegheny. Dillon D'Amato caused five turnovers, Pete Schellbach scooped up four groundballs, and Mirkovich logged 13 saves.

Wooster outshot Allegheny 42-32, logged 13 more groundballs than the Gators, and went 15-of-21 on clears.

Allegheny finished the day 24-of-26 on clear attempts.

Notable, Wooster's now 4-0 in NCAC play for the third time since the 2017 season.

Wooster's last overtime win came against Swarthmore College on March 15, 2016. The Scots won that game 13-12.

Next, Wooster's at Kenyon College (1-0, 0-0 NCAC East Division) at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, April 13.
