The College of Wooster men's soccer team had its opportunities Thursday but, in the end, fell to John Carroll University 1-0.
The deciding goal came in the 40th minute when Brenden Swann redirected a shot from Carter Esterle, who was awarded the assist. Otherwise, Wooster keeper Jason Prather made seven saves, including a couple of spectacular ones that saved additional goals.
Wooster ended up outshooting John Carroll 14-13 but only had five shots on goal as John Carroll keeper Jake Vogrin collected the shutout.
Wooster fall to 0-2-2, while the Blue Streaks improve to 2-1. The Scots travel to Westminster College (Pa.) on Saturday.
