Scots Run Away With Victory on Black And Gold Weekend

Max Wiley The College of Wooster men's soccer team showed up during Black and Gold Weekend with a 6-0 win over Defiance College on Saturday.

The Scots scored three goals in both halves, outshooting the Yellow Jackets 34-3.

Wooster got on the board initially via a header by Langston Hood on an assist from Jack Whitehouse in the 12th minute. Eight minutes later, Kyle Stringer was led upfield on a pass, and after his initial shot was saved, he rebounded his own shot for the score.

To close out the half, Max Wiley made it a 3-0 game on an assist from Moody Saadi.

The Scots once again emptied its bench in the second half as 28 total players saw action.

Miles Rochester got in the scoring column, his first of the year, off an assist from Wiley. Two minutes later, Wiley scored again unassisted.

Wiley led the Scots with two goals and one assist. Both goals were firsts of the season for the sophomore.

Finally, in the 79th minute, sophomore Louis Sehr connected to make it a 6-0 game to much the delight of the fans. It was his first collegiate goal. 

Jason Prather got the win in net after playing the first 45 minutes. Gabriel Thomas played the second half. Neither needed to record a save for the combined shutout.

Wooster (2-3-2) has now won two in a row and have outscored its opponents in those two games 11-0. Defiance drops to 1-3-3 on the year.

The Scots return to action Sunday when they take on Alma College.
