Scots Open NCAC Play With Win, Its Fourth Straight

Miles Rochester The College of Wooster men's soccer team turned up the pressure once it fell behind early in the second half, but its attack resulted in a 2-1 win against Hiram College on Saturday.

In the team's first North Coast Athletic Conference matchup, both teams played to a scoreless first half. However, Hiram surprised Wooster coming out of halftime as Cole Koch scored just 27 seconds into the half.

From there, Wooster's attack was relentless. So much so that it led to a penalty kick for Max Wiley in the 70th minute, which was the equalizer for the Scots.

Ten minutes later, Wooster capitalized off a corner as Miles Rochester was credited with the score after a scrum in front of the net. Wooster held off Hiram (1-7) for the rest of the game for the win.

Jason Prather made three saves for the win in net. Wooster outshot the Terriers 24-5 and had 11 corner kicks to Hiram's none.

The win marks Wooster's fourth straight as they improve to 4-2-2 overall. The Scots will have its final non-conference game on Wednesday when they travel to the University of Mount Union.
