Late First Half Goal Snaps Four-Game Win Streak

Jason Prather ALLIANCE -- A last second goal to end the first half was enough for The University of Mount Union to down The College of Wooster men's soccer team 1-0 on Wednesday.

With less than 10 seconds remaining in the first half, the Purple Raiders regained possession on their attacking end of the field. A couple of passes later, the Raiders found Emilio Spetic near the goal for the score with one second left on the clock.

That goal would be enough as a scoreless second half resulted in the 1-0 score, snapping a four-game winning streak of the Fighting Scots.

The Purple Raiders (5-1-3) outshot Wooster 14-12. Wooster's Jason Prather made five saves in net, while his counterpart Lucas Fields made three for the shutout victory.

The loss wraps up Wooster's non-conference schedule. They take a 4-4-2 overall record and a 1-0 North Coast Athletic Conference record into Saturday's NCAC matchup at Kenyon College.
