Scots Hang With Fourth-Ranked Owls in 3-1 Loss

Jason Stewart GAMBIER – The College of Wooster men's soccer team made it competitive against fourth-ranked Kenyon College on Saturday but ultimately fell 3-1 on the road.

Kenyon kicked off the North Coast Athletic Conference match with the game's first goal in the 11th minute via a score from Sam Carson.

However, Wooster knotted things up at 1-1 with a goal from senior Langston Hood in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, that stalemate did not last long with a Kenyon goal from Eamon Dujakovich in the 30th minute.

The Scots were still in striking distance, trailing 2-1 at halftime. That score remained within a goal through the majority of the second half until Isaac Cortez made it 3-1 in the 80th minute.

Kenyon outshot Wooster 20-11. Jason Prather made seven saves in net.

The Owls remain undefeated at 9-0 overall and 1-0 in the NCAC. Wooster falls to 4-5-2 overall and 1-1 in the NCAC.

Wooster returns home Saturday with another NCAC matchup, this time against DePauw University.
