Scots Tie Bishops For First Time in 15 Years

Jason Prather DELAWARE – The College of Wooster men's soccer team and Ohio Wesleyan University played to a 0-0 tie on Saturday.

It was a rare tie in the series against the two-time National Champion Battling Bishops. The two teams tied in an exhibition match in the spring of 2021, but one would have to go all the way back to 2006 for the last official time Wooster and Ohio Wesleyan tied.

The last time Wooster defeated Ohio Wesleyan was two years before in 2004. The series now stands at 42-11-8 in favor of the Battling Bishops.

In Saturday's contest, Ohio Wesleyan outshot the Scots 22-11. They also held the corner kick advantage 8-5.

Goalkeeper Jason Prather made two saves, while the team was also credited with a defensive save. Ohio Wesleyan's Mason Taylor made seven saves.

Moody Saadi took a team-high four shots and had three of those on goal.

Wooster moves to 5-5-4 overall and 2-0-2 in the NCAC. Ohio Wesleyan is now 4-4-4 and 2-0-2 in the NCAC.

Both teams have eight points in the conference standings, tied for fourth.

Next, Wooster travels to Wabash College on Saturday.
