Men's Soccer Records Second Straight Shutout

Evan Amend ALMA, Mich. – The College of Wooster men's soccer team took its second straight win and shutout on Saturday with a 5-0 win over Alma College.

Wooster, who is coming off a 6-0 win over Heidelberg University, continued to show off a strong offensive set, scoring four goals in the first half and three within six minutes of another.

Junior Max Wiley returned after missing the last two games and hit the game winner in just the 10th minute off an assist from Mason Garza. Twenty-three minutes later the Scots would pull away.

Junior Walker Johnson scored the next two goals, which were his first two of the year and his first since his freshman campaign.

His first score, assisted by Aris Christodoulou, came in the 33rd minute. The second came as the clock showed 37 minutes via an assist from Evan Amend.

One minute and 48 seconds later, the sophomore Amend would find the back of the net himself thanks to a feed from Christodoulou, and Wooster would take a 4-0 lead into halftime.

Wooster extended its lead to five in the 78th minute as Moody Saadi scored his second goal of the season.

Wooster ended up outshooting Alma 19-5. Eight of their shots were on goal. Wooster also took 13 corner kicks.

Drew Beazley played all 90 minutes and recorded one save for the win.
