Christodoulou Scores Twice in NCAC Opener

Aris Christodoulou  OBERLIN – First-year Aris Christodoulou recorded his first multi-goal game to help The College of Wooster men's soccer team to a 2-2 tie with Oberlin College on Saturday.

In the North Coast Athletic Conference Opener for both teams, Oberlin jumped to an early lead in the 25th minute behind a goal from Toby Wells-Zimmerman.

Oberlin held onto that lead up until the 69th minute when Christodoulou scored his first goal unassisted. The first-year then turned around in the 71st minute to make it a 2-1 game thanks to the assist from Elliot Miller.

Wooster held onto that lead until the final minutes of the game. However, in the 87th minute, Oberlin hit the equalizer on a goal from Xander Francoeur.

Wooster outshot Oberlin 18-15, while Oberlin took five corner kicks to Wooster's three.

Both keepers, Wooster's Drew Beazley and Oberlin's Colvin Iorio, played the entire 90 minutes and each made five saves.

Wooster moves to 3-4-3 on the year, while Oberlin moves to 2-3-4. Both teams move to 0-0-1 in conference play.

Next, Wooster will host Hiram College on Wednesday.
