Naporas Score for Scots’ First NCAC Win

Zach Napora The College of Wooster men's soccer team's pair of brothers each scored a goal on Wednesday as Zach Napora and Luca Napora lifted Wooster to a 2-0 win over Hiram College.

For Wooster's first goal, senior Moody Saadi got a shot off from the left side of the box that the Hiram goalkeeper deflected but did not reel in. That opened up an opportunity for Zach Napora to score an uncontested goal.

Saadi was credited with the assist thanks to his ability to get the ball in. That came in the eighth minute of the game.

That scored held through halftime and until the 54th minute when Wooster connected on a set piece off a corner kick.

Sophomore Elliot Miller's corner found the head of Luca Napora who directed the shot in the far side of the net for the goal.

It was Zach's second goal of the year and Luca's first. Wooster held true for the remainder of the game for its first North Coast Athletic Conference victory of the season.

Senior Gabriel Thomas collected the win in net after making two saves. It was his fourth win of the season and third shutout.

Wooster (4-4-3, 1-0-1) outshot Hiram (4-7-1, 0-2-0) 15-7. Hiram's keeper, Sean Rubin, made eight saves.

Next, Wooster will travel to Wittenberg University on Saturday before a stretch of three consecutive home games, their last ones at Carl Dale Field this season.
