Ball Doesn’t Bounce Wooster’s Way

GREENCASTLE, Ind. – The College of Wooster men's soccer team fell to DePauw University 3-0 on Saturday.

The Scots could not carry over the momentum from a big 1-0 win against Denison University at Historic Crew Stadium on Tuesday. Instead, Wooster fell behind early and played catch up the entire game.

DePauw (7-6-4, 3-2-3 NCAC) scored just 2:47 into the contest on a goal from Ethan Webster. Wooster keeper Gabriel Thomas made an initial save on a shot, but Webster scored off the rebound.

On DePauw's second goal, a bad clear attempt put Thomas at a bad position as Matthew Fogo scored in the 36th minute.

Fogo recorded another goal in the second half after a long throw in set him up right in front of the goal in the 57th minute.

Still, Wooster outshot DePauw 11-10 and took eight corners to their seven. Wooster had three shots on goal, while DePauw connected on their of their four.

Thomas made one save.

Wooster was in the mix to make the North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament, but with the loss, their season effectively ends. They end the year at 6-8-3 overall and 3-4-1 in the NCAC.
