The College of Wooster men's tennis team was dealt a 7-2 setback against Walsh University in its home opener Saturday at the Scot Center.
Two newcomers picked up the Scots' victories in singles action, as Willy Nelson won 6-4, 6-3 at the No. 5 spot, and Milo Saurman earned a 6-4, 6-4 triumph at the sixth spot.
Jacob Pine came up short in a competitive No. 4 singles match (6-4, 6-2), as did No. 2 doubles Nelson and Pine, and No. 3 doubles Erik Lindberg and David Greetham, by matching 8-5 margins.
The Scots will look for better results when they play Wabash College in a neutral site match at Oberlin, Ohio next Saturday at noon.
