Denison Downs Scots in Non-Conference Match

The College of Wooster men's tennis team fell to Denison University 8-1 on Sunday in a non-conference match.

First year Shivam Dewan gave Wooster its lone win, taking a 6-2, 7-5 win in the No. 5 flight.

Dewan earlier teamed with Vakul Nath in the No. 2 doubles flight but fell 8-3. Elsewhere the No. 1 doubles team of Joaquin Abos Amo and Alex Drewes as well as the No. 3 doubles team of Nebyou Minassie and Jeremy Williams each fell 8-2.

Abos Amo faced off against Tim Cianiola in the No. 1 singles flight and fell 6-4, 6-2. Drewes lost 6-2, 6-1 in the No. 2 flight, and Nath fell 6-1, 6-3 at No. 3.

Minassie took a 6-2, 6-1 loss in the No. 4 flight. Sophomore Connor Streeter lost 6-1, 6-1 in the No. 6 flight.

Wooster (0-5) returns to action next Saturday when they host Allegheny College.
