Minassie, Schrock and Si Collect Wins at Oberlin

The College of Wooster men's tennis team won three of its 10 singles matches played at the Oberlin College Invitational this weekend.

Five players each competed in two matches. Kevin SiBen Schrock and Nebyou Minassie all captured a win.

Si defeated Devon Paige from Tiffin University 6-1, 6-0, as did Schrock 6-0, 6-1.

Minassie defeated Grant North from host Oberlin, 6-4, 3-6, 1-0 (3).

In other matches, Schrock had a rally denied in a shortened third set and took a 6-3, 4-6, 1-0 (4) loss to Tiffin's Nathan Mansor. The same thing happened to Si in a 6-4, 4-6, 1-0 (4) loss to Mansor 

Minassie took a 6-2, 6-2 defeat to Oberlin's Sebastien Naginski.

Connor Streeter took a 6-0, 6-2 loss to Denison's Nadeem Jones and a 6-0, 6-2 loss to Oberlin's Sam Topper.

Patrick Johnson lost a 6-4, 6-2 match to Denison's Ryan Patrick and a 7-5, 6-2 match versus Tiffin's Gabriel de Oliveira.

The Scots wrap up the fall season Sunday when they host Walsh University.
