ASHLAND – The College of Wooster men's tennis team competed in the non-scoring Ashland Doubles Invitational this past weekend.

On Friday, Alex Drewes and Walker Wood defeated West Virginia State's 8-2, while Gabriel Escobar and Namit Misra defeated Tiffin University by the same score.

On day two, Drewes and Wood took another win together, defeating a John Carroll pair 8-4. Shivam Dewan and Patrick Johnson also won by an 8-4 score against host Ashland University. Alex Anikeeff and Atomu Maruyama won 8-5 against West Virginia State University.

Finally, on Sunday the men had just one team travel as Escobar and Drewes went 2-1 on the day. They took an 8-7 (2) win over West Virginia State and an 8-6 win over John Carroll.

That's it for the men this fall. They return in February with four matches, three of which at Aspen Racquet Club.
