Scots Perfect With 9-0 Win Over Capital

Alex Anikeeff The College of Wooster men's tennis team not only swept Capital University 9-0 on Sunday but swept its competition this weekend, scoring all 18 games it played.

The Scots had little resistance winning in straight sets throughout the singles flights.

Alex Drewes played in the No. 1 flight and captured a 6-1, 6-1 win. Shivam Dewan was just as good with a 6-2, 6-1 win in the No. 2 flight.

At No. 3, Patrick Johnson captured a 6-0, 6-3 win, while at No. 4 Namit Misra won 6-0, 6-1.

Connor Streeter won in the No. 5 flight, 6-2, 6-1, and Alex Anikeeff stepped in to take a 6-3, 6-1 win in the No. 6 slot.

Then in doubles play, Gabriel Escobar and Johnson teamed to take an 8-4 win in the No. 1 flight. The No. 2 team of Dewan and Misra and the No. 3 team of Drewes and Walker Wood each won 8-1.

Wooster improves to 2-3, while Capital falls to 5-2.

The Scots return to action Saturday when they travel to Ohio Northern University.
