Oberlin Bests Men's Tennis in NCAC Play

Gabriel Escobar OBERLIN – The College of Wooster men's tennis team fell to Oberlin College 7-2 on Wednesday.

Wooster scored one point in each the doubles and singles flights. The team of Gabriel Escobar and Patrick Johnson won 8-6 at the No. 1 doubles flight, while Alex Drewes won 4-6, 7-6 (5) 1-0 (7) at the No. 2 singles flight.

In the other doubles matches, Shivam Dewan and Drewes fell 8-2 at the No. 2 flight, while Namit Misra and Walker Wood lost 8-4 at the No. 3 spot.

In singles action, Escobar fell 7-6 (5), 6-1 in the No. 1 flight. Patrick Johnson lost after a retirement 6-1, 3-0 in the No. 3 slot, while Dewan lost at the No. 4 spot 6-3, 2-6, 6-4.

Misra fell 6-2, 6-1 at No. 5 and Connor Streeter lost 6-4, 6-4 in the No. 6 flight.

Wooster is now 4-11 and 0-5 in North Coast Athletic Conference play. They travel to Ohio Wesleyan on Saturday.
