GAMBIER – The College of Wooster softball team took care of the one-win Kenyon College Owls on Wednesday, winning both games in the series, 10-3 and 8-3.
In game one, Wooster scored 10 runs on 14 hits behind a quality pitching performance of Lynnsey Delio.
Delio, who gave up two earned runs and struck out five in six innings, also helped herself out at the plate, going 3-for-5 with two doubles and an RBI.
Kaydee Clark and Cate Barkdoll also collected three hits, going 3-for-4. Barkdoll hit a double, while Clark added an RBI.
Julia Jennings also had a solid day at the plate, with three RBIs on a sacrifice fly and a two-run single in the seventh. Stephanie Griffin-Sanchez added a double and two RBI, going 2-for-5.
In game two, junior Rachael Dudziak threw four innings of one-run softball for the win. Senior Addie Tagg pitched the final three for the save.
Jennings was again on point at the plate, going 4-for-4 with a double and an RBI. The team combined to hit for the cycle, as Katie Mommers went 2-for-3 with triple, and Delio hit a three-run home run.
Ella Wolff also hit a double, going 1-for-4 as the Scots collected 10 hits.
Wooster improves to 15-9 overall and 3-1 in North Coast Athletic Conference play. Kenyon drops to 1-23 and 0-6 in the NCAC.
Next, the Scots host Wittenberg University on Saturday and DePauw University on Sunday.
