DePauw Shows They’re Still One of NCAC’s Best

Julia Jennings The College of Wooster softball team hosted DePauw University on Friday and fell in both games of the doubleheader, 9-4 and 12-4.

DePauw, who moved to 9-16 overall and 4-0 in North Coast Athletic Conference play, proved they're still the team to beat on Friday. 

Wooster took an early 1-0 lead in game one thanks to an RBI double from Kaydee Clark, and that held until a five-run third inning from the Tigers.

Wooster got two back with a two-run double from Julia Jennings in the bottom of the inning, but DePauw struck again in the fourth, plating three more.

DePauw hit three home runs in the game with two from Katie Mathies and another from Emily Timberman.

Lynnsey Delio pitched 3.1 innings in the loss. Jennings and Stephanie Griffin-Sanchez each record two hits.

Jennings was another highlight in game two, going 4-for-4 at the plate with an RBI and a run scored.

DePauw jumped on Wooster early in game two, leading 6-0 after one-and-a-half innings.

Wooster got two back in the bottom of the inning thanks to a two-run double from Ella Wolff. The Scots then trailed by just two thanks to an RBI single from Jennings and an RBI double from Clark.

Unfortunately, the scoring stopped for Wooster, while DePauw tacked on six more runs. DePauw finished with 18 hits as starter Rachael Dudziak took the loss in 1.2 innings of work.

Wooster (15-11, 3-3 NCAC) will get right back to it on Saturday when they host Wittenberg University in another NCAC doubleheader.
