Scots Cap Thursday's Action with All-NCAC Honors in Men's and Women's 400 Medley Relays

note: This release was updated on Friday, February 14. A disqualification (stroke infraction) to Kenyon College's men's 400 medley relay was announced on Friday morning, resulting in The College of Wooster's relay moving up to third-place and earning all-conference honors.

GRANVILLE, Ohio – An All-North Coast Athletic Conference showing in the men's and women's 400 medley relay capped day two of the NCAC Championships for The College of Wooster swimming and diving team.

On the women's side, junior Kate Murphy, sophomore Molly Likins, junior Anne Bowers, and junior Lexi Riley-DiPaolo delivered the third-place time of 3:55.70 in Thursday night's finale at Denison University's Trumbull Aquatics Center. It's the second straight year Wooster's earned all-conference laurels in the 400 medley relay, and both Murphy and Likins were part of last year's All-NCAC quartet. Of note, Likins and Riley-DiPaolo now have three career All-NCAC certificates apiece, marking the most by a Fighting Scot since Kate Hunt '13 earned nine during her standout career.

In the men's 400 medley relay, junior Josh Gluck, junior Craig Klumpp, senior Trey Schopen, and junior Wyatt Foss came in at 3:28.99, a time that was originally fifth. Wooster was elevated to fourth on Thursday after Denison's relay was disqualified due to an early takeoff. Then on Friday, Wooster moved up to third, and earned all-conference honors, after it was announced that Kenyon College's relay was disqualified due to a stroke infraction.

Sticking with the relays, junior Brooke Brown, Likins, senior Megan Gross, and Riley-DiPaolo placed fifth in the 200 freestyle relay at 1:39.15. Schopen, Foss, Gluck, and junior Jim Shanahan opened Thursday's finals' session with a 1:27.23 in the event, a time that was good for sixth.

First-year Lucie Redmann accounted for Wooster's highest individual finish on the night. She scored 258.15 points on the one-meter diving board to take ninth.

Senior Nell Kacmarek's 11th-place time of 5:10.98 led four Wooster scorers in the 500 freestyle. First-year Kay Wetmore debuted at the NCAC Championships with a 16th-place time of 5:15.52.On the women's side, Wooster won a pair of consolation finals. Likins came in at 24.15 seconds in the 50 freestyle, while junior Madison Whitman reached the finish in 2:09.35 in the 200 individual medley. Both times are the fifth-fastest in program history.

Brown rounded out Wooster's consolation finals swims on the women's side. She was 18th in the 50 freestyle at 25.10 seconds.

Gluck stood out among Wooster's men's individual scorers on Thursday. He took 11th in the 200 individual medley at 1:56.02. First-year Noah Golovan won the bonus heat in the 200 individual medley at 1:58.91, a time that's the eighth-fastest in program history.

Wooster's men are in fifth with 275 points, while the women are sixth with 264 points. Denison (598 points), Kenyon (580 points), and Wabash College (433 points) are the top three teams on the men's side, while Denison (704 points), Kenyon (595 points), and DePauw University (330 points) comprise the top three in the women's standings.

Friday's action starts at 9:30 a.m. with the preliminary session, while finals start at 6 p.m.
