Harrington becomes Wooster’s winningest dual meet coach as Scots defeat Bishops and Terriers

Ryan Gross Head coach Rob Harrington won his 254th dual meet on Saturday to become The College of Wooster's winningest dual meet coach as the men's and women's swimming and diving teams took care of Ohio Wesleyan University and Hiram College.

Harrington surpassed the 253 wins from former coach and athletic director Keith Beckett, while the women moved their dual meet winning streak to 12.

The women defeated Ohio Wesleyan 183-69 and Hiram 211-49, while the men beat the Battling Bishops 231-46 and Hiram 239-37. Elsewhere, Ohio Wesleyan defeated Hiram on both sides with the men winning 152-91 and the women taking a 166-71 win.

The relays belonged to Wooster on Saturday as they claimed the 200 medley and 200 free on each side. In fact, Wooster won all but two individual women's events.

For the women, the 200 medley team of Mia Chen, Molly Likins, Ollie Bream and Maddie Becker posted a winning time of 1:55.22. Becker and Likins then teamed with Emma Connors and Hallie Findlan for a 1:45.38 time in the 400 free.

For the men, Damien Donado, Noah Golovan, Josh Pearson and Ryan Gross posted a 200 medley time of 1:40.46. Gross, Zach Fickes, Aiden Lentz and Doak Schultz then won the 200 free in 1:30.13.

Sticking with the men, Tucker Andrewjeski won the 1000 free in 10:22.07. He later took the 200 breast in 2:18.27.

Pearson won the 200 free in 1:50.14 and the 100 fly in 53.45. He also took the 400 IM in 4:18.48.

Donado swam to a 57.11 to win the 100 back, Schultz won the 100 breast in 1:01.45, and first-year Max Likins won the 200 back in 2:04.13 

First-year Isaac Shaker won the 200 fly in 2:02.65 and later went the distance in the 500 free with a winning time of 5:06.16.

Wooster claimed the top five spots in the 50 free as Gross led the pack in 22.90. Fickes trailed by only .08 seconds.

Gross also won the 100 free in 49.73.

Senior Eric Jacques won uncontested in the 1 meter with a score of 208.27 as well as the 3 meter at 215.05. 

For the women, Connors kicked off individual events with a winning time of 11:24.52 in the 1000 free. She later won the 500 free in 5:33.65.

Likins won two individual events - the 100 breast in 1:09.32 and the 200 breast in 2:32.21.

Bream also took top honors in three events. She won the 200 fly in 2:12.71, the 100 fly in 1:02.36 and won the 400 IM in 4:53.24.

Becker won the 100 free in 56.24, and Chen won the 100 back in 1:03.12. 

Junior Carol Maag won the 50 free in 26.61, just shy of her 26.45 seed time.  

Next, Wooster has a dual meet next Saturday when they host Oberlin College in the team's final home meet of the year.
