Senior Carolyn Webster won the North Coast Athletic Conference pentathlon for the second time, while classmate Jordan Dennis broke The College of Wooster's heptathlon school record at the league's indoor multi-event championships on Sunday afternoon at Kenyon College.

Webster, who was the runner-up in the pentathlon by a mere five points last year, easily pulled away from the other 11 competitors on Sunday. The senior's 3,229 points were just shy of 500 better than Oberlin College's Jasmine Keegan's runner-up haul of 2,736.

Webster took charge from the start with a meet-best 9.70 in the 60-meter hurdles. She continued to build the lead by clearing 5 feet, 1 inch in the high jump, also the top mark of the day. Later, Webster upped her indoor career-best in the long jump to 17 feet, 10.25 inches, while no other competitor surpassed 15 feet, 11 inches on the afternoon.

The senior posted the third-best shot put (32 feet, 6.25 inches) and third-best 800 meters time (2:39.77) on the day.

Noteworthy, the all-conference honor marks the 15th of Webster's career.

Dennis, primarily a sprinter and jumper, delivered a breakthrough time of 2:59.64 in the 1,000 meters to cap off his school-record haul of 4,041 points, which was good for fourth-place over the two-day heptathlon competition.

Dennis logged a career-best 7.36 in the 60-meter dash to start the meet and turned in the third-best long jump at 19 feet, 8.75 inches. The senior also finished within the top three in the 13-competitor field in the high jump (5 feet, 9.25 inches) and 60-meter hurdles (9.09).

First-year Maya Vasta and sophomore Jena Copley also competed in the pentathlon, and finished sixth and seventh, respectively with 2,609 and 2,548 points.

Vasta's 9.88 marked the third-best time in the hurdles, while her 2:40.77 was the fourth-best time in the 800.

Copley's 2:31.33 was the second-best 800 time on the day, and she also tied for fourth in the high jump, clearing 4 feet, 9.5 inches.

Senior Simon Weyer rounded out the competitors at the meet. While he didn't score, the senior logged the best time in the 1,000 meters at 2:43.87.

Wooster will be back in action on March 1, when it hosts the two-day NCAC Indoor Track & Field Championships.
