NCAC Champion Partridge Scores NCAC Athlete of the Week Award

Claudia Partridge, Wooster track & field It came as no surprise with The College of Wooster's Claudia Partridge earning North Coast Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week honors on Monday, as the Fighting Scots' senior won the NCAC pentathlon and scored a top-10 mark nationally in the high jump over the weekend.

Partridge, Wooster's third NCAC pentathlon winner over the last six championships, scored 2,779 points, 60 clear of Oberlin College's Hayden Hill, who was the runner-up. The high jump ultimately led the two-time national qualifier in the event to the title. The senior cleared 5 feet, 6 inches, just missing her school record, but the mark has her well-positioned for a hopeful nationals bid come March, as Partridge is tied for seventh nationally in the event with two more weeks left in the season.

Partridge's other top event was the 60-meter hurdles. There, her time of 10.12 was within the top three in the pentathlon field. Notable, this is the seven-time All-NCAC performer's second NCAC Athlete of the Week award.

Wooster is at DePauw University on Friday and Saturday for the NCAC Championships.
