Jeju Earns NCAC Honors Following Record-Breaking Debut

Breaking a 32-year-old College of Wooster record in a debut collegiate meet landed track & field first-year King Jeju North Coast Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week honors for men's field events.

Jeju crushed Mark Marando's 1992 long jump record of 22 feet, 9.75 inches by over a foot. Jeju, who reached 24 feet, 1 inch on attempt four, nearly took down the record in his first collegiate jump. That measured out to 22 feet, 9.25 inches. Jeju's second attempt went 21 feet, 11.75 inches.

Jeju is currently ranked fourth nationally in the long jump. Of note, there have only been 19 indoor individual season-best marks better than Jeju's 24 feet, 1 inch since the start of the 2019 season.

Wooster returns to action at Saturday's Fighting Scots Invitational, which takes place in the Scot Center.
