Junior Will Callender collected his first North Coast Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week honors for his performance this past weekend at the Fighting Scots Invitational.

Callender was named the men's indoor track and field mid/distance Athlete of the Week after not only winning the 3000 meters race but also breaking Wooster's indoor facility record.

Callender raced to a time of 8:42.97, a few seconds shy of his own school record in the race.

His points helped Wooster win the five-team event, which featured three other NCAC teams and Allegheny College. Wooster scored 160 points, while second place Denison recorded 141.5 points.

Next, Callender and the Scots will see Denison on Thursday when they host the Big Red in a dual meet.
