Hargrave Earns All-NCAC Honors in Heptathlon

OBERLIN – Junior Daysia Hargrave kicked off the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships for The College of Wooster women's track team this weekend by placing third in the heptathlon and earning All-NCAC honors.

Hargrave finished with 4,133 points behind the winner from DePauw University, junior Katie Moore, who won the heptathlon with 4,437 points. Second place was Oberlin senior Hayden Hill, who scored 4,414 points.

Hargrave shined in the 100 meters with a time of 14.64, breaking her own NCAC record from 2022.

In the 200 meters, Hargrave placed second in a time of 25.94 seconds, falling just shy of the first place time of 25.89 seconds.

She placed fourth in four events - the high jump (4 feet, 8.25 inches), long jump (15 feet, 8.25 inches), javelin (77 feet) and 800 meters (2:35).

Finally, Hargrave was seventh in the shot put (26 feet, .75 inches).

Hargrave last competed in 2022, taking third then as well. The junior collects six points for the team for when they compete in the NCAC Championships next weekend at Denison University.
