Biondi, Walker Reach Double Digits in Road Loss

 Mia Walker The College of Wooster women's basketball team lost 80-45 to Heidelberg University on Wednesday.

Ella Biondi led Wooster with 18 points and four rebounds. Mia Walker followed with 15 points on 6-of-11 shooting and was a perfect 3-of-3 from 3-point range.

Heidelberg's Hallie Rogers led all scorers with 20 points.

Biondi scored the game's opening basket, but Heidelberg took control quick, scoring the next nine points before Biondi connected on her second score.

Biondi scored Wooster's first six points. Walker connected on a 3-pointer to end the first quarter, and Wooster trailed 27-12.

Heidelberg expanded its lead in the second quarter to go into halftime leading 48-20.

In the second half, Biondi and Walker combined to score 11 of Wooster's 13 points in the third quarter as the Scots won the quarter by a point. 

Wooster shot 35 percent (18-of-52) for the game. The Scots went 3-of-13 from deep (23 percent) and 6-of-10 (60 percent) from the charity stripe.

Wooster (1-7) was outrebounded 44-28 and gave up 28 second chance points and 56 points in the paint.

Heidelberg (2-6) shot 49 percent (34-of-70) from the floor, 32 percent (6-of-19) from range and also went 6-of-10 (60 percent) from the foul line.

Wooster hosts Chatham University on Saturday, its only home December game.
