Biondi Matches Career High as Scots Wrap Up Regular Season

Ella Biondi First-year Ella Biondi continued her streak of solid play on Saturday, tying career-highs with 22 points and 13 rebounds as The College of Wooster women's basketball team fell to first place DePauw University 84-45.

It was the second time this season Biondi reached that point mark and the fourth time she has pulled down 13 rebounds. She shot 8-of-18 from the floor, 6-of-8 from the charity stripe and added four blocks and three assists.

She accounted for over half of Wooster's 24 rebounds in the game. Wooster struggled to keep DePauw off the glass, as they finished with 47 rebounds.

Shalen Guilliams scored 11 points, going 3-of-5 from deep. Mia Walker finished with seven points.

Three reached double figures for DePauw (18-7, 13-1 NCAC) as they were led by 15 points from Moira McGinley.

The Tigers set the tone early, jumping out to a 10-0 lead and a 25-10 advantage after the first quarter. However, Wooster kept DePauw within striking distance in the second and third quarter on the latter end of a 39-28 difference.

Wooster shot 36 percent (17-of-47) for the game, 36 percent (4-of-11) from range and 70 percent (7-of-10) from the foul line.

DePauw shot 43 percent (29-of-68) from the floor and were exceptional from range at 52 percent (13-of-25) and from the foul line at 93 percent (13-of-14).

Wooster finishes the regular season at 1-23 overall and 0-14 in North Coast Athletic Conference games. They earned the eighth seed in the upcoming NCAC Tournament and will travel to Wittenberg University for the quarterfinals on Tuesday.
