Biondi Named NCAC Athlete of the Week

Ella Biondi Sophomore Ella Biondi's monster performance in The College of Wooster women's basketball team's 111-100 double overtime win over Miami-Hamilton University earned her North Coast Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week honors, announced by the conference office Tuesday morning.

Biondi scored a career-and game-high 36 points on 16-of-30 shooting and grabbed 11 rebounds for her second double-double of the year.

The 36 points was the fifth best single game total in school history and the 16 field goals made tied for the single game program record.

Biondi scored 14 points in the opening stanza and added another 11 points in the fourth quarter.

Meanwhile, the team's 111 points set a new program benchmark and the combined total of the game (221 points) broke the NCAC single game combined scoring record.

On the year, Biondi is averaging 16.2 ppg and 8.0 rpg. Biondi is the program's first athlete of the week since Maria Janasko earned the honors back in February 2020.

Wooster is currently 2-4 and will travel to Carnegie Mellon University on Saturday.
