Wooster Finishes 10th at Bump Invtiational

The College of Wooster women's golf team took 10th-place at the Laura Bump Invitational, a two-day, 15-team event hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University this weekend at the Mill Creek Golf Club.

The Scots shot a 377 Saturday, but then showed improvement, shaving off 15 strokes for a second round score of 362. Overall, Wooster carded a 739, while Allegheny College earned top honors with a 663. Rounding out the top-5 were Wittenberg University (669), Baldwin-Wallace College (674), Otterbein University (678), and Madonna University (684).

Pacing Wooster was Janet Zahorsky, who tied for 34th among a field of 90 with consistent rounds of 88 and 87 for a 175. Next on the scorecard was Rainey Sullivan's 181 (93-88), while Hanna Gabriel (184), Alyssa Gilbert (199), and Nichole Gustafson (212) also contributed towards Wooster's totals.

Next up for the Scots will be the first of two North Coast Athletic Conference Championship events, as Wooster will play at Meadville, Ohio next Saturday and Sunday.
