The College of Wooster women's golf team closed its 2013-14 fall campaign as part of a highly-competitive field at Wittenberg University's Pat Clouse Invitational, held at the Springfield Country Club in Springfield, Ohio, on Saturday and Sunday. Wooster finished in 11th-place out of 15 teams, four of which were ranked in the most recent Golf World/Women's Golf Coaches Association NCAA Div. III top-25 poll and three others that were in the others receiving votes category.

The Fighting Scots scored 733 (374-359), but that could have been about 25 strokes better had it not been for the team's No. 1, Sharmeen Chinoy, forced to disqualify due to her threesome accidentally hitting from the wrong tee on one hole during Saturday's 18.

Senior Janet Zahorsky led the way for Wooster the opening round (90), and within three strokes of her were first-year teammates Hannah Buzolits (91) and Emily Howerton (93). Another rookie, Mallorey Stack, added to the team score (100).

The Scots performed better on Sunday, with Buzolits carding an 86 to tie for 36th overall (177) out of the field of 77 individuals. Chinoy was next at 88, Stack took 10 shots off the previous round for a 90, and Zahorsky contributed a 95.

Ithaca College, ranked No. 11 nationally, held off No. 4 DePauw for the team title, 627 to 639, and No. 15 Wittenberg was third (655).

All told, it was a very successful fall for Wooster, establishing new team records for lowest 18 holes twice as well as lowest 36-hole score and recording its highest finish at a tournament – second-place out of 12 teams – that it can build on when resuming competition in March.
