Scots' Remarkable Fall Continues

Ally Siewert College of Wooster Golf TIFFIN, Ohio – A second-consecutive third-place finish was turned in by The College of Wooster women's golf team, which wrapped up play at the seven-team Heidelberg University Fall Invitational on Saturday afternoon. Wooster opened with a 315 – the second-lowest round in program history – and closed with a 339 for a two-day score of 654.

Wooster, which was coming off a school-record 307, had three scores in the 70s in Friday's opening round. Sophomore Ada Pan led the way with a 76, one stroke ahead of junior Melissa Burtscher. Sophomore Ally Siewert's 79 was two off a collegiate-best, and junior Grace Lindgren rounded out Friday's scoreline with an 83.

Pan's 158 ranked fifth in the field. The sophomore followed up the 76 with an 82 on Saturday. She carded five birdies on the weekend, with all of them coming on the front-nine at par-72, 5,851-yard Mohawk Golf Club.

Burtscher tied for sixth-place with a 159. The junior's weekend was headlined by two birdies on Friday's back-nine. Siewert came in at 163, which was 12th in the field. The sophomore birdied the par-5, 462-yard 18th hole on Friday and played the back-nine on Saturday at 3-over-par.

Lindgren's 174 ranked 18th in the field. Senior Riley Thorr was Wooster's No. 5 in the lineup. She went 90-91-181 on the weekend to place 27th.

Junior Drew Patterson was one of two Scots playing in the field as individuals. Her 86 on Saturday marked a new collegiate-low by five strokes.

Next, Wooster hosts its annual Eva Shorb Weiskopf Invitational, which is set for October 2-3 at Wooster Country Club.
