Pan The Medalist at Weiskopf Invitational

Ada Pan, Wooster Golf WOOSTER, Ohio – Sophomore Ada Pan's consistent play this fall was rewarded with medalist honors on Monday afternoon, as the Fighting Scots' anchor fired a 157 to capture top billing by five strokes at the Eva Shorb Weiskopf Invitational. The College of Wooster women's golf team was the runner-up in its home event, which took place at the par-72, 5,630-yard Wooster Country Club.

Pan delivered a steady closing stretch to both rounds of the event, with pars on holes 15-18 on both Sunday and Monday. She made the turn at 1-over-par on Monday, thanks in part to a birdie on the par-4, 340-yard fifth hole, which was followed up by four consecutive pars. Pan opened the tournament with a 79 and closed with a 78 en route to joining alumna Tongtong Wu as the lone Scots to capture medalist honors at the program's home event.

Junior Melissa Burtscher's 168 netted a fourth-place finish. Burtscher carded an 84 in each round. Burtscher's ninth collegiate top-five finish was headlined by a birdie on the challenging par-4, 18th hole on Monday, and for the tournament, she had three birdies.

Sophomore Ally Siewert tied for seventh-place at 175 after rounds of 89 and 86. Siewert logged the third eagle in program history on Sunday with a three on the par-5, 474-yard seventh hole, and she is the first player in program history to card an eagle on the Scots' home course in a competition round. Siewert's best stretch came over the final nine holes, which were played at 4-over-par on Monday.

Junior Grace Lindgren rounded out the scorers for Wooster. She bounced back from a 94 on Sunday with an 88 on Monday. Lindgren carded a birdie on the par-5, 474-yard seventh hole in Sunday's opening round.

Junior Drew Patterson (94-93-187, t-19th-place) rounded out the Scots in the top-20.

DePauw University edged out Wooster for the team title 678-682.

Next, Wooster wraps up its fall season at the Bluffton University Fall Classic, which takes place October 15-16.
