Riley Thorr, Wooster Golf FRANKLIN, Indiana – The College of Wooster women's golf team placed sixth at the nine-team Franklin College Lady Grizzly Spring Invitational, which marked the Fighting Scots' final competition prior to the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships.

Wooster, which competed against a field that included four teams ranked within the top-50 nationally by Golfstat, opened with a 348 at the par-72, 5,637-yard Legends Golf Club and closed with a 332 for a two-day total of 680. Saturday's round consisted of an 82 from junior Grace Lindgren, an 83 from junior Melissa Burtscher, an 85 from sophomore Ally Siewert, and a 98 from senior Riley Thorr. Burtscher rolled in three birdies during Saturday's round, which included a 4-over-par 40 for the back nine.

Siewert was 23rd at 168. The sophomore sank five birdies on the weekend, including two over the final four holes on Sunday. Siewert fired off five straight pars to start play on Sunday, and she played 17 holes at par or better for the weekend.

Lindgren tied for 24th-place at 169. The junior hit nine pars on Saturday and logged six, plus a birdie, during Sunday's round.

Thorr's career round started with a par, and the senior's steady play saw her make the turn at 3-over-par on Sunday. A birdie followed on the par-4, 330-yard 10th hole, which brought the senior to 2-over-par. Thorr's Sunday play was primed with four straight pars that capped play on Saturday.

Sophomore Maddie Moran also hit a new collegiate-best with a 94 on Sunday. Moran tied for 53rd-place at 197. Moran had four pars on the card for Sunday and played the back nine at 10-over-par.
