Madison Carey has been named the women's lacrosse Player of the Week by the North Coast Athletic Conference for the second time in the last three weeks, the league announced Monday. The junior attacker totaled 18 points (12 goals, 6 assists) in three games last week.

The College of Wooster played against Ohio Wesleyan University on Wednesday, and Carey racked up seven points on four goals and three assists to lead the Fighting Scots to a 16-6 victory. Then Saturday, Wooster improved to 2-0 in the NCAC with a 13-9 win over archrival Wittenberg University, which saw Carey score a hat trick and dish out two assists. Finally, in a non-conference game with Carthage College, Carey tied a season-high with five goals and added another assist to help Wooster triumph 15-9.

Carey has been on an aggressive scoring pace as of late, having recorded 27 points during Wooster's four games in April, compared to 21 points in six games during March. On the season, she has totaled 51 points (36 goals, 15 assists), which ranks second on the conference leaderboard.

Wooster (7-3, 2-0 NCAC) will look to win its third conference game, and seventh in a row overall, when it visits Oberlin College (3-4, 0-2 NCAC) on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
