Following a record-tying performance, The College of Wooster's Alexa Mellis earned the North Coast Athletic Conference Women's Lacrosse Athlete of the Week award, as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.

Mellis scored 12 goals during a 2-0 week for the Fighting Scots. During Saturday's 22-13 "senior day" victory over Allegheny College, Mellis tied Wooster's single-game program record with eight goals. It marked the sixth eight-goal game in program history and the first since alumna Ellie Hudson-Heck netted eight against Whitman College in 2016.

The senior political science major's eight goals are the most by a NCAC player this spring, and ranks as the 15-most goals scored in a NCAA Div. III game in 2021.

In addition to her 12 goals, Mellis had three groundballs, an assist, a draw control, and a caused turnover last week.

Mellis is the first Scot to earn NCAC Athlete of the Week honors since alumna Megan Healy on April 22, 2019.

Wooster's (3-1, 2-0 NCAC East Division) slated to be back in action at Kenyon College (0-0, 0-0 NCAC East Division) at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, April 14.
