IWLCA Div. III All-Region Release

Senior attack Alexa Mellis and senior goalkeeper Katie Shideler garnered first-team Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association All-Great Lakes Region honors, as announced by the coaching organization on Tuesday morning.

Mellis, a two-time All-North Coast Athletic Conference selection, was tops on this year's team with 43 goals and 48 points, with the goals ranking as No. 2 within the conference. She tied Wooster's single-game record with eight goals during a 22-13 win over Allegheny College on April 10, with that ranking as the sixth eight-goal game in program history. Mellis scored at least four goals in eight of Wooster's 10 games this spring.

Shideler, the NCAC Defensive Player of the Year leads the conference with 113 saves and a 52.6 save percentage. The two-time all-conference honoree had seven double-digit save performances on the year, including 14 against Denison University in the NCAC championship game. She also had 16 saves in an eight-goal win at Allegheny College back on March 27 and a season-high 18 saves in the season-opener at Denison.

Notable, it's the first time since 2016 where Wooster's had multiple all-region honorees.
