Four Named All-NCAC for Women’s Lacrosse

The College of Wooster women's lacrosse team had four selections on the All-North Coast Athletic Conference teams with Kenzie Morris (first team), Britta Treu (second team), Clare Leithauser (second team) and Hannah Shaw (third team) all garnering recognition.

Morris rises all the way to the first team and being named honorable mention her first year. She led the team with 60 points and 54 goals scored. 

Her 54 goals make her the first Scot since Alexa Mellis in 2019 to surpass the 50-goal mark and ranks seventh all-time in single season goals. She ended the season tying her career-high with seven goals in a 17-16 win against Oberlin College.

Morris also was third on the team with 60 draw controls. She added 17 groundballs, 16 caused turnovers, six assists and succeeded in 15-of-25 free position attempts.

In conference only stats, Morris was second in goals scored with 18. 

The senior Treu finished even with Morris with 60 points but with a whopping 43 assists and 17 goals. In conference play, she produced 16 points on four goals and 12 assists with her 12 assists ranked third among conference players.

Treu, a first-time All-NCAC selection, ended her career with 77 assists for fourth all-time, while her 42 assists set a single-season program. She tied career-high eight points on four goals and four assists in a 20-4 win over Westminster College and put up a career-high six assists in a 26-7 win over Illinois Wesleyan University.

The senior Leithauser makes the second team for the second year in a row, leading the Wooster defense with a team-high 51 groundballs and 28 caused turnovers. She recorded a season-high six groundballs three times this season and caused a career-high five turnovers in an 18-8 win over Kalamazoo College.

Her 179 career groundballs rank her fifth all-time at Wooster.

Her classmate Shaw made the third team after second team recognition last year.

Shaw scored her 100th goal and tallied her 100th point this season. She also broke the career draw controls record at 304.

Shaw was third on the team with 50 points and second with 41 goals. She also tallied a team-high 77 draw controls, 18 caused turnovers and nine assists.

She was second in the conference at 30 draw controls. She had 13 early in the season against Westminster College, which was two shy from her single-game program record.

Wooster finished 11-5 this year and went 2-4 in conference play.
