A record eight College of Wooster women's lacrosse student-athletes were recently named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association's Academic Honor Roll, while the Fighting Scots made it 10 straight IWLCA Academic Honor Squad awards. Juniors Angelina Bolivar and Molly Kershner, seniors Clare Leithauser and Jill Murray, juniors Ciara O'Connor and Kenzie Smith, senior Britta Treu, and junior Ann Venditti were Wooster's individual qualifiers.

Bolivar played in 15 games this spring and netted a career-high six goals. Bolivar's first multi-goal game came in the win over Westminster College on March 1. The junior recorded a goal, assist, two groundballs, and a caused turnover in a midseason non-conference win over Illinois Wesleyan University.

Kershner saw time in six games this year and caused a turnover in a March 18 14-7 win at Virginia Wesleyan University.

Leithauser repeated as a second-team All-North Coast Athletic Conference honoree and was a College Sports Communicators' Academic All-District® selection. The senior scooped up 51 groundballs to lead the team, and the total rates as the 10th-most in single-season program history. Leithauser graduated with 179 career groundballs, the fifth-most in program history.

Murray's senior season included 16 starts. She was second on the team with 17 assists and ranked within the NCAC's top-five with 1.06 assists per game. Murray's 32 goals ranked third on the team and she had a quartet of four-goal games. Murray finished three goals shy of 100 for her career.

O'Connor missed the spring season due to injury. She played in 18 games during the 2022 lacrosse season and tied for second on the team with 14 assists. In 2022, O'Connor was one of six Scots with at least 20 goals on the season, with three of the scores coming against Denison University.

Smith started 14 contests as a junior and ranked fourth on the team with 27 goals. Smith found the back of the net three times on five occasions this spring, headlined by scoring the game-winner with 43 seconds remaining in overtime of a 17-16 season-finale win at Oberlin College on April 29. Smith's all-around play carried over to the defensive end, where the attacker logged three groundballs and three caused turnovers at Virginia Wesleyan.

Treu landed on the All-NCAC second-team after leading the league and ranking 22nd nationally with 2.63 assists per game. The CSC Academic All-District® honoree broke the program's single-season record with 43 assists and graduated fourth all-time with 78 helpers. Treu's six assists versus Illinois Wesleyan rate as the third-most in program history. Earlier in the year, Treu tallied an eight-point performance with four goals and four assists at Westminster.

Venditti entered 12 games this spring. The junior recorded three goals, two groundballs, two caused turnovers, and one draw control. Two of Venditti's goals came in back-to-back wins against Westminster and Baldwin Wallace University, while a groundball and caused turnover came in the game against the Titans.

All eight of Wooster's IWLCA Academic Honor Roll qualifiers were part of the NCAC Academic Honor Roll earlier this summer. In all, 70 percent of eligible team members qualified for the NCAC Academic Honor Roll, making women's lacrosse one of seven Wooster teams to have at least 70 percent of eligible team members on the list. Women's lacrosse's 14 NCAC Academic Honor Roll qualifiers were the fifth-most from a team at the College.

To qualify for IWLCA Academic Honor Squad status, teams must post at least a 3.2 team GPA for the academic year. IWLCA Academic Honor Roll requires a 3.5 cumulative GPA and the student-athlete must be at least a junior.
