Quick Succession of Goals Gives Scots First Loss

Jaros ADRIAN, Mich – The College of Wooster women's soccer team took its first loss of the year on Sunday with a 2-1 outcome at Adrian College.

It was another close contest between the two teams, who played into overtime last year where Teddi Farson gave the Scots the win in the 93rd minute.

This time, the Scots got on the board first as Hallie Krzys scored off an assist from Emma Jaros in the 12th minute.

The goal was Krzys's fifth in as many games, scoring in each of the first five games to start the season.

Adrian then shocked the Scots with back-to-back goals just over a minute apart.

First, Mckenna Mahoney scored from the right side in the 28th minute as her shot went by Wooster goalkeeper Kameryn Nelson.

Adrian then scored off a rebound following a direct free kick 1:08 later. Annamarie Fosmoen sent the kick from a few yards outside the box right toward Nelson, who made the intial save.

However, Nelson could not coral the ball in and Adrian's Josie Huber scored what would be the game winner as both teams went scoreless for the remainder of the game.

Adrian outshot Wooster 8-6, and both teams took three corners. Nelson finished with two saves.

Both teams move to 2-1-2 on the year as Krzys's goal was just the second Adrian had allowed this season to date.

The Scots return home Tuesday when they host Westminster College.
