Scots Yield Three Second Half Goals to John Carroll

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS – Sophomore Emma Jaros scored in the closing seconds of the first half, but The College of Wooster women's soccer team yielded three second half goals in a 3-1 loss to John Carroll University on Sunday.

Wooster took a 1-0 lead into halftime until John Carroll's Emily Patrzyk changed the outcome of when she not only hit the equalizer but the game winner as well in a span of 1:07. It happened right out of the gate to start the second half in the 48th minute.

Wooster tried to climb back but the climb became too steep in the 80th minute when John Carroll's Madyson Rosado made it a 3-1 game.

John Carroll, who moves to 3-4-2 and snaps a two-game skid, outshot the Scots 17-6. However, Wooster had its opportunities, holding the corner kick advantage 9-2.

Amanda Flory made five saves but took the loss in goal. Her counterpart, Juliana Kontul, made two saves in the win.

Wooster is now 4-3-2 and hosts Baldwin Wallace University on Wednesday in its final non-conference game of the season.
