Women's Soccer Collects Second Straight 2-0 Win

Amanda Flory BLUFFTON – The College of Wooster women's soccer team benefited from an own goal which wound up the game winner in a 2-0 victory at Bluffton University on Tuesday.

A cross in from junior Hallie Krzys found the foot of a Bluffton defender as the own goal broke the scoreless tie in the 56th minute. Wooster did, however, gain some insurance thanks to a lofty goal from Julia Struck in the 62nd minute.

It was Struck's second goal as a Scot and her first since her season-ending injury from last year, which limited her to just seven minutes.

From there, the Scots held form for its second straight 2-0 win and shutout.

Wooster (2-0-1) again mixed around its goalkeepers as all three saw minutes on Tuesday. Amanda Flory received the start, Kameryn Nelson recorded the only two saves and collected the win, while first-year Lucy Carlin saw her first minutes toward the end of the game.

The keepers did not need to do much as the offense kept control of possession for the majority of the game. They outshot Bluffton 20-3 and recorded eight shots on goal.

Bluffton (1-2) keeper Brielle Collier made six saves as Wooster amounted a massive 17 corner kicks.

Wooster plays at home for the first time this season Saturday when they host Grove City College.
