Mann Does it All as Wooster Captures Fifth Straight Win

Naomi Mann Senior Naomi Mann did a little bit of everything for The College of Wooster women's soccer team on Wednesday as they defeated Marietta College 3-0 for its fifth straight win.

After a scoreless first half, the Scots were awarded a penalty kick as Mann stepped up to give Wooster a 1-0 lead in the 52nd minute. It was her second penalty kick score in as many attempts so far this season and what would wind up being the game winner.

Mann then connected in the 76th minute to make it a 2-0 game. She intercepted a ball from Marietta and then fired from the top, left of the box.

Finally, Wooster was awarded a free kick near the top of the box in the 82nd minute. Mann took the kick, tapped the ball to Lily Glaza as the junior found the back of the net for the second time this season.

The points for Mann give her the team lead with four goals and 10 points this season.

Wooster, otherwise, kept Marietta (2-2) at bay. They outshot the Pioneers 22-7.

Amanda Flory and Kameryn Nelson each played a half in goal. Flory played the first and recorded a save, while Nelson played the second to collect the win.

Marietta's Alli Stahl made 10 saves.

Wooster remains unbeaten in the all-time series against Marietta, moving to 16-0-1.

The win gives Wooster (5-0-1) its longest win streak since 2019, and that squad won the North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Division III Championships.

After a three-game homestand, Wooster will now hit the road for a Saturday matchup against the University of Pittsburgh-Greensburg (3-3) in match to be played at Seton Hill University.
