Scots Handle Heidelberg For Seventh Straight Win

Hallie Georskey TIFFIN – The College of Wooster women's soccer team's seventh straight win gave head coach Geordie Brown his 350th all-time as Wooster defeated Heidelberg University 3-0 on Wednesday.

Brown, Wooster's winningest women's soccer coach, has guided Wooster to a 7-0-1 record so far this season, and the win tonight put him with a career record of 350-186-62.

How Wooster got there Wednesday was with another shutout, their fifth of the season. This time, Amanda Flory took the duties in net, making four saves for her first complete shutout of the season.

The Scots took the lead in the 41st minute after being awarded a penalty kick on a handball inside the box. Senior Hallie Georskey took and connected on her kick. It was the first score of her career.

Later, sophomore Julia Struck got a ball across to make it 2-0 in the 53rd minute. Her strike hit the goalie but had enough power on it for the score. It was her third of the year.

Finally, another first as Bella Crompton found the back of the net for the first time. The first-year beat a defender and sailed the ball over the keeper's head in the 77th minute.

Wooster outshot Heidelberg (1-2-2) 11-7. They also took two corners, while Heidelberg took one.

The Scots return home on Saturday to face John Carroll University and to celebrate senior day.
