Mann Scores PK, Scots Tie John Carroll 1-1

Naomi Mann Senior Naomi Mann celebrated her senior day with a penalty kick score as The College of Wooster women's soccer team tied John Carroll University 1-1 on Saturday.

Mann was one of eight seniors recognized before the game along with Aly BrughLindsi FilippiGrace GascoigneHallie GeorskeyLindsey MooreAbby Showalter and Mary Sirois.

Mann continues her hot streak with her fifth score in the past four games. Her goal in the 51st minute also made her 3-for-3 in penalty kick attempts so far this season.

She stays atop the team and conference lead with 16 points and seven goals.

John Carroll hit the equalizer in the 65th minute off a set piece from a corner kick. Emily Patrzyk found Gabriella Walter who headed in the score in the opposite end of the goal.

Both teams measured up well against the other. The Blue Streaks outshot Wooster 19-11 and had seven shots on goal to Wooster's five. Wooster held the advantage in corner kicks 5-3.

Sophomore Kameryn Nelson made two saves for a clean sheet in the first half. Junior Amanda Flory made four saves in the second half. 

Wooster's seven-game win streak is snapped, but they remain unbeaten at 7-0-2 on the season. John Carroll moves to 3-1-3.

Wooster will travel to Baldwin Wallace University on Wednesday for its last non-conference game on the schedule.
