Farrell Hits Game Winner in Final Minutes

Bailey Farrell BEREA – The College of Wooster women's soccer team held off Baldwin Wallace University on Wednesday, 3-2, after a late minute goal sealed the game for the Scots.

Junior Bailey Farrell picked a great time to record her first goal of the year as her score in the 84th minute sent the Scots home winners. She scored following Wooster's third corner kick, and after the battle for the ball, it fell at her feet, and she was able to turn and score.

Wooster held on to conclude its non-conference schedule at 8-0-2. Baldwin Walallce fell to 4-4-1 with the loss.

The Scots fell behind early on a Baldwin Wallace strike from Sydney Rice, but Wooster did not trail for long. In fact, they took the lead within the next six minutes.

Senior Grace Gascoigne led junior Hallie Krzys for a goal off her right foot in the 18th minute.

Gascoigne then scored herself in the 20th minute to give Wooster a 2-1 lead after taking a lead pass and getting past the goalkeeper.

It was both Krzys's and Gascoigne's fourth goals of the year.

Wooster took that lead into halftime, but Baldwin Wallace tied it up in the 49th minute via a goal from Sydni Mudge. That scored stayed until Farrell's game winner.

Wooster outshot Baldwin Wallace 17-14.

Junior Amanda Flory took the win in net, making five saves. Her counterpart, Darcy Schoen, made nine saves.

This concludes the non-conference schedule for the Scots. They start North Coast Athletic Conference play on Oct. 7 when they host Wittenberg University.
