Scots Get Job Done With 1-0 Win Over Kenyon

GAMBIER – The College of Wooster women's soccer team picked up a much-needed win in its penultimate North Coast Athletic Conference regular season game with a 1-0 win over Kenyon College on Wednesday.

Wooster capitalized off a corner kick for the game's lone goal. Junior Lily Glaza made a short pass to senior Naomi Mann whose cross was good enough to be a shot as it sailed into the top, right corner of the goal in the 37th minute.

It was Mann's team leading 24th point and 10th goal, while Glaza recorded her third assist of the season.

Kenyon was aggressive on the pitch, outshooting Wooster 21-8. Wooster split halves between goalies Amanda Flory and Kameryn Nelson.

With five minutes to go, Kenyon gave Wooster a scare as a shot by Hailey Moss hit the post. Nelson then had to make a couple more saves in the final minutes of the game as Wooster held on for the win.

Flory needed to make just one save in the first half, while Nelson recorded six in the second half.

The Scots were the early game on Wednesday to open the final week of NCAC contests.

Vying for a top four spot to get into the NCAC Tournament, Wooster (11-2-3, 3-2-1 NCAC) gained a crucial three points to put them in a tie for third and eliminated Kenyon (6-5-5, 1-4-1 NCAC) in the process.

Wooster will wrap up the regular season with a trip to DePauw University on Saturday.
