Women’s Soccer Season Ends at DePauw

Kelsey Maley GREENCASTLE, Ind. – The College of Wooster women's soccer team ended its season on Saturday with a 1-0 loss to DePauw University.

The Scots were in a scenario where a win or a tie would have given them a spot in the upcoming North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament. Instead, DePauw (10-3-5, 3-1-3 NCAC) will compete in the four-team field after its win Saturday.

DePauw's goal came off a penalty kick score in the 72nd minute from Annalise Grammel. The Tigers were rewarded the kick after a collision in the box.

Down a goal, Wooster took just two shots for the remainder of the game. Their first came in the 82nd minute, but senior Naomi Mann missed high.

With two minutes remaining, Wooster took a pair of corner kicks which DePauw defended. A minute later, Mia Stoller took a deep shot that was saved by DePauw keeper Aubree Empie.

Wooster struggled to get anything going offensively all game long as they were outshot by the Tigers 14-4. DePauw also held the corner kick advantage at 14-4.

Kameryn Nelson made three saves for a clean, first half sheet. Amanda Flory made four saves in the loss.

After an 8-0-2 non-conference record, Wooster will see its season conclude with a 3-3-1 NCAC record and an 11-3-3 overall record. It was the 25th time in program history the Scots won 10-plus games in a season.
