The College of Woosters senior libero, Ali Drushal, earned a third-team All-American award from the American Volleyball Coaches Association, while junior teammate KateLynn Riley collected honorable mention status as a result of being part of the All-Great Lakes Region First Team.
Ali Drushal and KateLynn Riley became the first from The College of Wooster volleyball program to be selected to the All-Great Lakes Region Team. The AVCAs all-region awards were established in 1996 and by being part of the 14-member team, Drushal and Riley are now eligible for the All-America Team.
Wooster collected three of the North Coast Athletic Conferences four individual awards, highlighted by senior Ali Drushal being named the NCAC Libero of the Year for the third-consecutive season as announced by league officials. The College of Wooster's volleyball team was recently recognized as one of 353 high school and college programs to earn a 2007-08 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award. The award, initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, annually honors men's and women's college and high school teams that display excellence in the classroom by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade-point average on a 4.0 scale or a 4.10 cumulative team GPA on a 5.0 scale during the school year.
